He was predeceased by: his father Lester Roosevelt; and his siblings, Oscar L. Smith, Aubrey Smith, Jack Smith, Roger R. Smith and Jo Ann Smith Barwick.

He is survived by: his brother Harold Smith (Deborah) of Dublin, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
