He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ernst and Nettie Boggs Bennewitz. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Jackson Bennewitz; his children, Charles A. Bennewitz, Patrick R. Bennewitz and Kara B. Tavani; his brothers, Jim Bennewitz (Laura) and Dan Bennewitz (Dana); and his grandchildren, Jackson A. Tavani and Knox P. Tavani. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
