He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph William Shirley and Lizzie Mae Shirley; his wife Margaret Ellis Shirley; his brother Carlton Shirley; and his sister-in-law Sue Shirley.
He is survived by: his daughter Jan Jones (Linton); and his brother Donald Shirley (Janet). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Duluth First United Methodist Church (3208 Duluth Hwy, Duluth, GA 30096). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Duluth First United Methodist Church Music Ministry.
