She was predeceased by: her husband Ernest Whatley Higgins, Sr.; her son Ernest Whatley Higgins, Jr.; and her father Carl Betts. She is survived by: her children, Carl Betts Higgins and Elizabeth Higgins Daniel; and her sister Anne Betts Coxhead. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
