He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Edward Mayhue and Lula Poole Mayhue; and his wife Murlee Demastus Mayhue. He is survived by: his children, Richard (Mitzi Mayhue), Paula June Mayhue and Arlene (Edward Kleinman); his sister Effie Long (Ed); his sister-in-law Cherre Mayhue; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Tallant, Clint Mayhue, Cameron Mayhue, Steven Kleinman, Danielle Kleinman and Mark Kleinman; and his great grandchildren, Brady, Hudson, Charley and Autumn.
