He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Thompson and Grace Maddox Thompson; and his brothers, Jimmy Thompson and Ridgely Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Martha Ellis Thompson; his sons, Carey Thompson of Buford, GA and Chris Thompson (Allie) of Rabun Gap, GA; his brother Duane Thompson (Sandra) of Lake Secession, SC; his sister-in-law Marsha Thompson of Greenwood, SC; and his grandchildren, Christopher Damon Thompson, Jr., Daisy Lee Thompson and Hawk Davis.
