He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Flanders and Martha Lake Flanders; and his sister Blanche Farley. He is survived by: his wife Jewel T. Flanders of Wrightsville; his daughter Jennifer Flanders Thigpen (Scott) of Newnan; and his grandchildren, Grant Thigpen, Callie Thigpen and Caroline Thigpen. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stanley Funeral Home - Dublin (1320 US-441, Dublin, GA 31021). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Forest Methodist Church (400 Woods Ave, Dublin, GA 31021). A burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at the Westview Cemetery (101 Smith Rd, Wrightsville, GA 31096).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mr. Flanders to Boy Scouts of America at 4335 Confederate Way, Macon, GA 31217, Pine Forest Methodist Church at 400 Woods Way Avenue, Dublin, GA 31021 or to Dublin Exchange Club Foundation at P.O. Box 381, Dublin, GA 31030.
