He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hancel Cherry and Pearl Williams Cherry (Frankie Cherry); his brother Billy Cherry; and his sons, Roy William Cherry and Charles Edward Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Dwayne Cherry, Tifffany Cooper (Charles), Patricia Ann Cherry, Darby Carpenter, Debra Tayloe and Billy Brown; and his siblings, Joseph Cherry and Patricia Baggett Foskey. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews.
