He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Allen Chappell and Margarette Hodges Chappell; and his siblings, Annelle Chappell and Robert Chappell. He is survived by: his close friend Diana "Dee" Scott; his son David "DJ" Scott; his sisters, Peggy Reed (Larry), Jo Ann Manning (Buster) and Betty Brown (Keith); and his grandchildren, Madelyn Rhae Scott, Emri Claire Scott and Nash Harrison Scott. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel (215 W Jackson St, Dublin, GA 31021). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Northview Cemetery (1225 N Franklin St, Dublin, GA 31021).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Scouts of America in Mac's honor.
