He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Herbert "H. H." and Effie Stratton Skeens; and his siblings, Carl Skeens, Stanley Skeens, Amber Skeens, Opal Atkins, Irma Holstein, Beulah Jarrell and Marett Schultz.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hunt Skeens of Dublin; his children, Melissa Jump (Keith) of Dublin and Tim Skeens of Eastman; and his sister Naoma Sitton of Madison, WV. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church 5025 Chester Hwy, Chester, GA 31012.
