He is survived by: his daughter Holly Gates McElhaney; and his siblings, Chalmer Gates of Akron, Tom Gates (Gracie) of Akron, OH, Robin Gates (Nancy) of Clarksville, TN, Michael Gates of Akron, OH, Darlene Weckerly of Port Charlotte, FL, Janetta Finnesan of Akron, OH, Leanne Weakland of Westover, PA, Sandra Rinesmith of Tallmadge, OH and Nancy Wilson (Don) of Glen Campbell, PA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
