He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Ellis and Lois Hall Duke. He is survived by: his wife Carol Vansant Ellis; his children, John Ellis (Helen) and Julie Ellis; his granddaughter Morgan Ellis; and his extended family, Jeanette Ellis Conwell, C. J. Ellis, Pat Hall Bishop and Kay Greene.
