She was predeceased by: her parents, Harris Waters Wood and Virginia Lula Rainwater Wood; her son Andrew Lawrence Mitchell; and her siblings, Gene Wood (Rita), Eleanor Wood and Judy Reasor.
She is survived by: her husband Jerald Franklin Mitchell; her children, Scott Mitchell (Shelly), Charles Barrett (Denise) and Donna Vinyard (Don); her grandchildren, Cameron Mitchell (Stephanie) and Cailin Mitchell; her great grandchildren, Liliana Grace Mitchell and Ledger Scott Mitchell; her sister Virginia Oakes (Robert); her nieces and nephews, Hunter Oakes, Shylin Oakes, Renee Wood Case, Judy Wood and Claudia Wood; and her siblings, Lee Wood and Debbie Wood. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jones-Wynn - Douglas Chapel (2189 Midway Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
