He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis Evans and Malina Evans; and his siblings, Jimmie Evans and Jean Bracewell. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Harper Evans; his daughters, Wendy Brunet (Brad) and Nancy Drake (Kyle); his grandchildren, Ian Brunet, Ryan Brunet, Ariel Barnhill, Carter Drake, Ayden Drake, Colson Drake and Grace Drake; and his sister Judy French. He is also survived by many nephews, a niece.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Whitley Garner Funeral Home (8640 Rose Ave, Douglasville, GA 30134). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
