It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rhoda Irene Merritt Hutto (Douglas, Georgia), who passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Merritt and Mattie Cato Merritt; her husband Willis Audman Hutto; and her siblings, R. A. Merritt, Limmie Davis, H. L. Merritt, Lucille Cooper, Jesse Merritt, Junior Merritt, Milton Merritt and Myrtle Bennett.
She is survived by: her children, Frances H. Smith (Paul, Jr.) of Douglas, Annette H Courson (Dalton) of Douglas, Jennell H. Gieger (Ray) of Douglas, Tina H. Cooper (James) of Douglas, Alton Hutto (Stephanie) of Douglas, Jimbo Hutto (Winnie) of Broxton, Rhonda H Dworkin (Marty) of Atlanta and Dewayne Hutto (Amy) of Alma, Georgia; her sister Lurlyne M. Smith of Douglas, Georgia; and her caregivers, Audrey Cole and Lessie White. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
