He was predeceased by: his father Jack Jackson Jewell; his sons, Billie Jo Jewell and Richard Jewell; and his siblings, Lester Jewell, Fannie Barrett, Maggie Smith, Annie Bell Musgrove and Myrtice Exum.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Jewell of Douglas; his children, Lynelle Davis (Benny) of Waycross, Randy Jewell (Rhonda) of Douglas, Ricky Jewell (Penny) of McDonough and Rodney Jewell of Waycross; his stepdaughters, Valerie Urreta of Pooler and Darlene Carr (Mike) of Atlanta, Georgia; and his sisters, Bonnell Wilson of Waycross and Vernell Wells of Waycross. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren.
