It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lillian Courtney of Douglas, Georgia, who passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Danial Tanner and Beulah Smith Tanner; and her great grandchild Lillian Lanette Richey. She is survived by: her daughters, Daphyne Lynn Adams (Pat) of Waycross, GA and Velvet Beard; her grandchildren, William Brian Adams, Robert E. Beard, Velvet Nicole Goolsby-Massey, Jennifer Webster and Christopher Shawn Beard; her sisters, Lillie McCook, Hazel Deason and Opal Erickson; and her children, Brantley Tanner, Virgil Tanner, Ottis Tanner, Milford Tanner, Daniel Tanner, Cecil Tanner and Carly Nicole Beard. She is also survived by Fifteen Great Grandchildren, One Great- Great Grandchild, along with several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533).
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sims Funeral Home.
