He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Dixon Deal and James Doyle Deal; his grandson Clyde Vernon Tanner III; and his brother Eric Deal. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Deal of Douglas, GA; his children, James Anthony Deal II (Brandi) of Douglas, GA and Andrea Deal Harden (Chris) of Douglas, GA; his grandchildren, Anna T. Taylor (Nathan), Abigail T. Fussell (Andrew), James Grayson Deal and Arianna Jade Deal; his great grandchildren, Ayden Taylor, Brinley Taylor, Lane Fussell, Tanner Fussell, Logan Fussell, Adrian Deal of Screven, GA and Johnny Deal (Judy) of Douglas, GA; his sister-in-law Linda Deal of Douglas, GA; and his sisters, Sandra D. Sellers (Dwight) and Sarita D. Pope (Bill) of Macon, GA. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sims Funeral Home (201 N Peterson Ave, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Congregational Christian Church N Madison.
