He was predeceased by: his parent Monroe McKinnon Sr.; his wife Rudine Fussell McKinnon; and his brothers, Edward McKinnon, Arlen McKinnon, Andrew McKinnon, Randall McKinnon and Bobby McKinnon.
He is survived by: his parent Mary Jane Carver McKinnon; his children, Alisha Shaw (Ken) of Douglas, GA, Janice Beasley (Herman) of Douglas, GA, Clinton McKinnon (Marie) of Ambrose, GA and Jerry McKinnon (Kem) of Douglas, GA; his siblings, Willie Mae McKinnon of Ocilla, GA, Louise Maulden of Douglas, GA, Florene Phillips of Douglas, GA, Martha Denton (Billy) of Broxton, GA, Betty Jean Soles of Willacoochee, GA and Monroe McKinnon Jr (Marie) of Willacoochee, GA; and his close friend Dorothy Cliett of Denton, GA.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
