She was predeceased by: her parents, Elzie Taylor and Lillie Rhymes Tayler; her husbands, William David Mercer and Harvey W. Paul; her son Carl David Mercer; her grandson Hoyt Kelly Casto; and her siblings, Daisey T. Smith, Jessie T. Cusic, Pearlie T. Woods, Carolyn Taylor and J. Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Bessie M. Spivey of Americus and Pete Mercer (Dorothy) of Kingsland Georgia; her grandchildren, Elease A. Smith (Bobby), Melissa Moyor (Christopher), Tina L. Eldridge (Randy), Andy Mercer (Marie), Heather Jordon (Bradley), Mike Mercer (Bree) and Mardy Mercer (Bridgette); and her sisters, Patis T. Tramell of Avon Park and Minnie Lee T. Westberry of Jacksonville, Florida.. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel (305 W Ward St, Douglas, GA 31533). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Arna Cemetery ~ Atkinson County (650 Co Rd 58, Willacoochee, GA 31650).
