He is survived by: his children, Chad Elder (Lee Anna) of Athens, GA and Beatrice Elder Kaiser (Ken) of Athens, GA; his sister Deborah Elder Moffet of Douglas, GA; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Elder, Madeline Elder, Ellen Marie Elder, Quinn Moore and Isiah Moore. He is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
