He was predeceased by: his parents, William Charles Byrd and Lois McMillan Byrd; and his siblings, Bryan Sears, Nellie Chaires, Helen Henderson and Geraldine Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Kyle Byrd (Shay) of Douglas, GA and Leighan Waters (Keith) of Douglas; his grandchildren, Carter Luke Byrd, Charles William Byrd and Alaina Grace Waters; his sister Dorothy Cliett of Denton, GA; his brother-in-law Kenneth Hursey of Virginia; his nephew Stanford (Pa); and his niece Margaret Sears (Ida Ann Hursey). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
