He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Walter Gillespie and Ore Lee Burnam Gillespie; and his brothers, Lonnie Gillespie and James Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Gillespie of Douglas, GA; his sons, Byron Wade Gillespie (Donya) of Douglas, GA and Bradley Gillespie (Angela); his grandchildren, Whitley Gillespie and Mason Gillespie; and his siblings, Bert Gillespie (Barbara) and Nell Hutcheson. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
