It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Russell Smith (Donalsonville, Georgia), born in Iron City, Georgia, who passed away on April 8, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Turner Smith and Maggie Dickson Smith; his siblings, Duke Smith, Bill Smith, Bob Smith, John Smith, Lynn Smith, Evelyn Hobbs, Inez Benton, Reba Enfinger, Geraldine Halks, Christine Cross and Juanita Ingram; and his son-in-law Sambo Alday.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian M. Smith of Donalsonville, GA; his children, Shirley Alday of Donalsonville, GA and Ricky Smith (Karen) of Iron City, GA; his grandchildren, Nicholas Smith (Kyla), Kyle Smith (Jessica), Dusty Smith (Windi), Mitch Alday (Heather), Mikey Alday (Natalie), Kailee Gardner and Bradley Gardner; his great grandchildren, Sutton Smith, Summer Smith, Brooke Smith, Malyn Smith, Preston Smith, Julia Smith, Jacob Smith, Josie Alday, Clara Alday, Josh Roberson, Brianna Roberson and Chain McMillan; and also Tish Chrispen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
