He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Crawford Childree and Lila Viola Tindell Childree; his son Charles Weldon "Don" Childree, Jr.; and his sisters, Elanor Sharron, Gladys Averett and Thelma Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Kaye Davis Childree; his children, James Childree and Vie Cherry (Ricky) of Donalsonville, GA.; and his sister Jean Middleton. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
