He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Croom and Ella Barber Croom; his wife Geneva Croom; his grandson Heath Maxwell; and his great grandchild Faith Green.
He is survived by: his children, Mickie Croom, Cecil Croom (Susie), Kent Croom (Linda), Rhonda Carroll (Don), Scott Baxter (Rebecca) and Cheryl Bousson; and his grandchildren, Laura Croom, Benji Croom, Joelle, Kristy Johnson, Luke, Alex Croom, Jarett, Brittany Scott, Stephen, Tiffany Maxwell, Whitney Green, Sean, Lindsey Price, Bill Jewett, Peter, Haley Fraze, Ted, Eric Mullins and Jesse. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
