He was predeceased by: his former wife Lillian Pearl Reagan Wingate; his sisters, Lyda Bubenheim, Myrtice Barnham and Agnes Reed; and his pet Woo Woo.
He is survived by: his wife Lil; his children, Torey E. Wingate, III (Ingrid) of Doerun, Gettis Joe Wingate (Charlotte) of Doerun and Velvet Wingate Brooks (Chuck) of Doerun; his grandchildren, Monica W. Lewis (Fulton), Eric Wingate (Stella), Mandy Kinsey (Kevin), Garrett Wingate (Brooke) and Clayton Brooks (Sam); and his great grandchildren, Ben Lewis, Davis Lewis, Bowen Lewis, Thad Wingate, Wynn Kinsey, Rynn Kinsey, Garron Wingate and Davis Wingate. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other family members.
