He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Josie Elizabeth Powell and Infant Courtney. He is survived by: his parents, Iverson Leonard Powell and Marjorie Louise Jones Powell of Doerun; his wife Peggy Dixon Powell; his children, Jody Powell and Julie Powell Courtney (Wes); his grandchildren, Tatum Salter, Landon Powell and Lucy Courtney; his siblings, Lenny Powell, Jayne Bullard and Donnie Powell; his close friends, Shirley and Joey Sanders; and his pet Spud. He is also survived by several other extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cobb Funeral Chapel (2441 GA-37, Moultrie, GA 31768). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Calendar Mt. Sinai Baptist Church (1751 Mt Sinai Rd, Doerun, GA 31744).
