He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgle Miles Wheeler, Sr. and Arlissa Green Wheeler; his wife Sylvia Thompson Wheeler; and his siblings, Larry Wheeler, Sue Wilson, Mae Wilson, Sarah Gunn and Cathy Ross.
He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Dyer of Hiwassee, Vickie Ledford of Murrayville, Georgia, Joan Rodgers of Braselton, David Wheeler of Demorest and Michael Wheeler of Hayesville. He is also survived by several other relatives, & friends.
