He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Wood and Julia Davis Wood; his wife Onie Irene Smith Wood; his brothers, Herman Wood and Bill; his sister-in-law Lucille Wood; his sister Blondine; and his brother-in-law Frank Nelms.
He is survived by: his children, Jason (Krissy Wood) of Demorest, Shane Wood of Demorest, Gail Wood Williams of Demorest and Amanda Flanagan of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Lee Williams (J. D.), Kim Williams (Melissa), Courtney Carpenter (Austin), Caleb Wood (Lindsey), Aaron Wood (Allyson), Braden Wood, Trace Wood, Madison Wood Sloan (Doug), Megan Flanagan, Morgan Flanagan and Macey Flanagan; his great grandchildren, Layla Carpenter, Luke Wood, Porter Wood, Paislee Gerrin, Kreed Wood, Gatlin Wood, Haven Wood, Ezmae Sloan, Kierstyn Goguen, Kennedy Stammer and Aveion McConnell; his siblings, Charlie (Mary Wood), Paul (Elaine Wood) and Mary; and his brother-in-law James Gunn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Chapel (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531).
