We bid farewell to Ruthanne Mayers of Decatur, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 3, 2024 at the age of 81. Ruthanne touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Gale and Frances Maxine Holsapple (Mickey); her siblings, Linda and Donald Gale Jr.; and her nephew Shane.
She is survived by: her children, Scarlett Mayers Elder, Taffy Jo Mayers and Joseph A. Mayers III (Lex); her daughter-in-law Alison Mayers; her grandchildren, Amanda Salter, Collin Elder, Savannah Elder (Dallas), Samuel Mayers, Kai Mayers and Pfeiffer Mayers; her sister-in-law Rebecca Gale; her brother Dean Holsapple; and her nephew DJ Holsapple.
In honor of Ruthanne's memory, her family invites friends to consider one of the following ways to celebrate her life: donate to a no-kill animal shelter, create a piece of artwork, listen to an Elvis song, sing your favorite song with the windows rolled down, dance in the rain, share your biggest smile with a stranger, laugh out loud, and hug those you love tightly, telling them just how much they mean to you.
