We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2025, at the age of 84, David O'Connell (Decatur, Georgia), born in Brooklyn, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the A.'s. Turner & Sons (2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033). A prayer was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 9:45 AM at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church (636 W Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030). A Mass was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM at the Decatur Cemetery (229 Bell St, Decatur, GA 30030).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to the Saint Thomas More Catholic Church Capital Campaign.
