With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Elrod (Decatur, Georgia), born in Sparta, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 18, 2025 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Cook and Gertrude Cook; her husband John Elrod; her daughter Cathy Elrod Reid; and her sisters, Irene Carne and Catherine Cook.
She is survived by: her sons, John Columbus "Chris" Elrod and Kevin Scott Elrod; her grandchildren, Christian Reid, Cody Reid and Holland Reid; and her great grandchild Violet Reid.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the As Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory (2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory (2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033). A burial will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Melwood Cemetery (5170 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Stone Mountain, GA 30083).
