He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hammett and Mary Rabun Hammett; and his wife Gladys P. Hammett. He is survived by: his son Wayne Hammett (Missy); and his sister Maggie Wilkerson. He is also survived by his parents, his three siblings.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
