She was predeceased by: her husband Ronnie Gay; and her son Shane Lamar Gay. She is survived by: her daughters, Shawana Blackstone and Kimberly Melson (Jack); her grandchildren, Daniel Fayson (Sarah), Jamie Smith, Grace Blackstone, Baileigh Smith and Carter Smith; and her friend Midge Gay.
