It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Phillips Reid of Dawson, Georgia, born in Americus, Georgia, who passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Steve departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Steve. Though Steve may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, H. H. Reid and Rachel Phillips Reid; and his wife Remona McPherson Reid. He is survived by: his daughters, Kasey Hall (Ed) of Monticello, GA and Ryann Hancock of Dawson; his sister Joyce Jones (Larry) of Columbus; his grandson Braxton Reid Hancock; his niece Lisa Funston (Dave); and his nephew Sam Jones.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Chickasawhatchee Baptist Cemetery (Leesburg Rd, Georgia 39842).
