He was predeceased by: his father Hershel Knight; and his brother Lonnie Knight. He is survived by: his mother Eleanor Knight of Jesup; and his siblings, Katherine Blocker (Dale) of Townsend and Lee Knight (Stacey) of Jesup. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Ricky, we are going to miss you!!! You've been our neighbor, 2 doors down for so long. I will miss sending you holiday trays and your little gifts. We didn't get to say goodbye but we will light a candle on Sunday in your memory along with all the others we've lost too soon RIP our friend. I will hang a ribbon on your fence as our way of saying so long my friend, till we meet again. I was heartbroken when Bobby told me yesterday. Just plain going to miss having you around.”
