He was predeceased by: his parents, George Dewey Gober and Merle O'Kelley Gober; his wife Billie Stone Gober; his brother William Henry Hawkins Gober; his grandson Douglas Smith; and his great grandchild Brooke Elizabeth Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Smith (Steve) of Hull, Ann Nix (Neil) of Marietta and Gerald Gober (Donna) of Hull; his grandchildren, Darrick Smith (Barbi), Amanda Sailors (Chad), Daniel Smith (Jessica), Sarah Pastrana (Jason), Alan Nix (Katie), Rachel Floyd-Jones (Chuck), Jeniece Vinson and Jenna Hill (David); and his great grandchildren, Owen, Linley Smith, Katie, Tucker Sailors, Ava Grace, Eli Smith, Jonah, Elias Pastrana, Asher, Tate Nix, Brandon Vinson, Kaden and Kara Hill.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gordon's Chapel Family Life Center Building Fund.
