She was predeceased by: her husband James Zell Nared, Jr.; her daughter Vonda Kay Jackson Marshall; and her brother Roy Lee Mack. She is survived by: her daughter Yolanda Washington (Sean); her stepchildren, Cleo Nared, James Nared, Jr., Anthony Nared and Tony Nared; her stepfather Elijah Henderson; her grandchildren, Sedrick Shropshire (Carie), Davadrion Davenport, Zakeya Jackson, Starlette Adams (Timothy), Carmen Pendarvis (Stephan), Tiera House, Shacola Caldwell, Nikisha Powell, Deanna Gaines, Imeana Kelley (Tia), Ikeala Clark, Zana Washington, Jovonna Gaines and Jovonte Gaines; her sisters, Alice Chiles, Edith Shropshire (Joey) and Melvene Roberts; her sons-in-law, Lawrence Marshall and Joseph Gaines; her aunt Janie Paige; and her close friends, Elijah Henderson, Myra Faye Murray, Vanessa Cameron, Sharla Day and Wanda Suttle. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
