He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Commodore Jenkins and Iva Ann Silvers Jenkins; his wife Lillian May Pratt Jenkins; his son-in-law Alton "Big Al" Gentry; his grandson Chassey Brafford; and his siblings, Leonard Tate (Arlivia Jenkins), Willard (Bertha Jenkins), D. L., Janice Jenkins and Pauline (Bryce Ellis).
He is survived by: his children, Samuel Floyd Jenkins, Jr. of Dalton, GA, Marlene Jenkins of Denver, NC, Donna E. Gentry of Dalton, GA and Rena Brafford of Cohutta, GA; his grandchildren, LaDane, Beatrice Gentry, Joel, Megan Gentry, Denetra, Shane Sowder, Ashley McBrayer, Charlon, Rachelle Brafford, Torey Brafford, Jeston Brafford, Kevin Brafford and Jillian Brafford; his great grandchildren, Devin, Bailey Gentry, Andrew Sowder, Adam Sowder, Maddox McBrayer, Owen McBrayer, Audrey McBrayer, Isla Gentry, Keaton Brafford, Torey Brafford, Jr., Landen Brafford, Jaydon Brafford, Jullie Brafford, Jazmin Vance, Elijah Brafford, Grace Brafford, Faith Brafford, Jeston Brafford and Tammy Gail Beebe; and his great great grandchildren, Collins Gentry, Halston Gentry and Knox Gentry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of God of the Union Assembly (2211 S Dixie Hwy, Dalton, GA 30720). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
