He was predeceased by: his parents, Deacon Jess Burse and Maggie Sue Akins Burse; his siblings, George Burse, Clyde Burse, James "Jay" Burse, Sarah Cannon, Kathleen Taylor, Ida Belle Little and Barbara Jean Burse; and his grandson Debony Maffett, II.
He is survived by: his wife Imogene Griffin Burse; his children, Avis Jones (Carlos), Cedric Burse (Lola) and Veronica Burse; his grandchildren, Tory Burse, Mallori Upshaw, Monet Moutinho and Kiara Maffett; his great grandchildren, Natoria Burse, Michael Combs, Oliver Moutinho, Khi'mellow Burse, Ellis Upshaw, Sawyer Upshaw and Maya Burse; his great great grandchild Sage Burse; and his sister Janice Tolliver. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Willis Funeral Home, Inc. (2011 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the True Gospel Pentecostal Church (109 Henderson St, Dalton, GA 30721).
