He was predeceased by: his wife Laura Wimpey; his parents, James Lester and Alice Wimpey; his siblings, Floyd (Rosie Wimpey), Harve (Martha Wimpey), Lee (Willie Lou Wimpey), Arnold (Irene Wimpey), Alvin Wimpey, Thelma, Rueben Hasty, Lula and Loy Collins; and his son David Junior Wimpey.
He is survived by: his son Larry; his daughters-in-law, Cheryl Wimpey of Dalton and Carolyn Wimpey; his grandchildren, Shelly Wells (Blake), Tiffany Gable (Mickey), John David Wimpey, Scottie Allen (Angel), Jennifer Ellis, Beth Douhne and Soloman Douhne; and his great grandchildren, Jordon, Sydney, Rylee Cox, Peyton, Bayley Gable, Austin, Abby, Anslee, Bobby, Tommy, Trey, Jasie and Maci. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
