He was predeceased by: his parents, Malvin Townsend and Christyne Townsend; his wife Sandra B. Townsend; and his siblings, Donnie and Debra Townsend.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Anton (Joe) of Frankin, TN and Greg Townsend (Carria) of Dalton; his grandchildren, Jaxon Anton, Jacob Anton, Jenna Kate Anton, Zach Rich Hailey Rich (Aaliyah), Jaydien Harrison and Greg Townsend, Jr.; his great grandchild Kayden Rich; his brother Ricky Townsend (Debby); his uncles, Drennon Crutchfield (Mary Beth) and Billy Townsend (Joyce); his nephews, Jeff, Drew and Tanner Townsend; and his close friends, Paris McDaniel, Shelia Miller and Pat Washington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Northwest Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes or Followers of Jesus Ministries.
