With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jon Roger Jewell Sr. in Dalton, Georgia, born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on July 20, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fred and Lucille Elizabeth Deal Jewell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jo Lamb Jewell; and his sons, Jon (Susan Jewell Jr.), Rusty (Kristin Jewell), Mike (Beth Jewell), Alan (Becky Jewell) and Stan (Lisa Jewell). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to be made to the Greater Works Food Ministry and First Baptist Men's Prayer breakfast, causes that were close to Roger's heart.
