He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ernest and Dorothy Nix; and his brothers, Otis Nix and Jimmy Nix. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hollifield Nix; his son Gary; his daughter-in-law Tricia Nix of Cohutta, GA; his daughter Karen; his son-in-law Jerome Rewis of Chatsworth, GA; his siblings, Denny (Brenda Nix), Grover (Carolyn Nix), Bonnie Earnestine Hollifield, Gladys Silvers of Dalton, GA and Martha (Johnny Gravett); his nephew Jeremy Nix; his sisters-in-law, Lois Hall and Margaret Nix of Dalton, GA; his grandchildren, Drew Nix, Scott Rafferty, Nicole Rafferty and Tiffany Livengood; and his great grandchild Maddox. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Valley Baptist Church (2907 Old Rome Rd, Dalton, GA 30721).
