He was predeceased by: his parents, James Giddens and Mildred "Gaston" Giddens; and his brothers, Cecil Gates and David Giddens. He is survived by: his daughters, Heather Trammel (Jarren) of Dalton and Valerie Giddens of Dalton; his brother Hugh Gates of Dalton; his brother-in-law Tony Brown; his sisters, Joann Brown of Tunnel Hill and Traci Dumas (Bobby) of Macon; his son-in-law Clint Jackson; and his grandchildren, Kayla Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Jada Rankin, Gavin Burke, Abel Rankin and Lylah Simmons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
