He was predeceased by : his father Floyd Lamar Austin, Sr.; his grandparents, Gordon Willis, Lula Belle Willis, Jessie Austin, Sr. and Mattie Austin; his siblings, Karen Willis Richardson, Christine Austin and Floyd Austin, Jr.; and his stepfather Melvin "Jose" Heard, Jr..

He is survived by : his mother Melvia Willis Austin Heard; his siblings, Kathy Boston, Shirley Bonds, Daniel Austin and Gordon Austin; his siblings-in-law, Brenda Austin and Heren Richardson, Sr.; his aunts and uncles, Betty Jackson (Marvin), Eleanor Jackson, Terry Willis and Jerry Willis (Shirley); his cousins, Terri Betton and Ryan Betton; and his brother Joseph Baker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.

The lying in state was held on Friday, July 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Willis Funeral Home (2011 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Mountain Ridge Baptist Church.
