Gloria Rivera Rivas Obituary

Mrs. Gloria Rivas-Rivera, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, November 24, 2023, at the local hospital. Gloria was born August 20, 1960, in Mexicali, Mexico, a daughter of the late Jose Rivera and Victoria Moncada.

She is survived by her husband, Jose Rivas Perez of the residence; son, Edgar Uriel Rivas-Rivera; daughters and sons-in-law, I. Victoria and Victor Villanueva, Tanya and Ricardo Castro, Gloria Noemy and Daniel Marquez all of Dalton, GA; siblings, Socorro Lopez, Consuelo Alvarado, Juan Rivera, Gaudalupe Rivera all of California; grandchildren, Vanessa Robledo Rivas, Desiree Gallardo, Abel Gonzalez, Izaak Lara, Nathaniel Villanueva, Andrew Lara, Gisselle Villanueva, Kristen Castro and Evelyn Marquez; great-grandchildren, Zelia Perales, Zaniyah Perales, Ariella Gonzalez and Ezra Figueroa; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gloria Rivas-Rivera will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Juan Rivera officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Victor Villanueva, Daniel Marquez, Izaak Lara, Nathaniel Villanueva, Andrew Lara, and Abel Jose Gonzalez honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
