He was predeceased by: his wife Jill Harden Owen; and his parents, George Owen and Elaine Owen. He is survived by: his former wife Gwen Powell Dates (Stephen); his children, Andrew David Owen (Allison) of Quitman, GA and Amanda Owen Sheets (Bryan) of Orlando, FL; his stepdaughter Nicole Boozer Sherrill (Matt) of Dalton, GA; his stepgrandsons, Colton and Brody Sherrill of Dalton, GA; and his siblings, Nancy Davidson, Patricia Truluck (Eddie), Janet Richmond (Dale) and Timothy Owen. He is also survived by mother of his children, and lifelong friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia or an animal rescue or shelter of your choice in David's name.
