He was predeceased by: his parents, J. B. Bishop and Lucille Barton Bishop; his stepfather Roy Edgar Worley; his wife Flora Mae Ralston Bishop; his son-in-law Don Spitzer; his siblings, Essie Burns (Grady), Nadine Griffin, Michael Bishop, R. L. Bishop, Clark "Duke" Bishop (Ann) and J. B. "Buddy" Bishop (Carolyn); and his siblings-in-law, Christine and John Kirk.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra "Sandy" O'Bryant (Leland) of Lafayette, GA, Lesa Spitzer of Dalton, GA, Relady Bishop of Dalton, GA and Tammy Bishop of Dalton, GA; his sister Brenda Chance (Wendell) of Calhoun, GA; his brother-in-law Gene Griffin of Barney, GA; his grandchildren, Daniel Martin (Candace), Camilla Webb (Don), Brooke Brock, Jessica Holsomback, Stacy Evett (Freddy) and Crystal Franks (Scott); his great grandchildren, Hannah Stone (Josh), Haley Bunch (David), Karah Powell, Brianna Sanchez (Jovanny), Kolby Martin, Macey Brock, Emily Williams, Adalynn Brock, Bentley Webb, Bella Webb, Nicole Martin, Craighton Roper, Alexis Shepherd (Dameon), Kyilee Holsomback, Kayla Franks, Allyson Franks and Garrett Franks; his great great grandchildren, Skyylar Stone, Timothy Stone and Ryker; his brothers-in-law, Tommy Ralston and David Ralston; and also, Maelynn Carter, Leevi Goswick, Walker Bunch, Nash Powell and Lakelynn Powell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ponders Melrose Chapel (138 Melrose Dr, Dalton, GA 30721). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
